Cabinets
MATERIALS
All our formal cabinets are made in MDF unless otherwise stated.
FRAMING
All our cabinets are made using thick framing in three
widths of 51, 54, or 61 mm. This gives the cabinets a
substantial feel. The thickness is determined by the overall
proportions of the job itself.
SHELVING
Shelving is either 18 or 25 mm thick,
though occasionally we go up to 36 or 51 mm if the shelves are very
wide. Shelving can be fixed or adjustable, though we recommend
fixed if at all possible, as it looks cleaner and is less inclined to
sag.
DOORS
Doors
are normally in the shaker style, though we can also do glazed or
screen doors. Doors are normally mounted flush or slightly
recessed to the framing.
WORKTOPS
Most commonly the
units have painted MDF tops , though we often fit solid oak worktops
where the surface will encounter wear.
